Every detail is a testament to our deep-seated care for you; our valued customer, our family.

HOW OUR TENCEL LYOCELL FABRIC IS MADE:

1) Chipping the wood

Trees are collected by loggers and are then cut into logs of approximately 20 feet. Afterwards, the loggers de-bark the logs. Finally, they get fed to a chipper so they become small squares.

2) Preparing the wood pulp

Wood chips are placed into a vat of chemical digesters that softens the wood chips into wet pulp. Once the pulp has dried, it gets rolled onto spools.

3) Dissolving the cellulose

The dried pulps get broken down into small squares. These chips are turned into pulps which get broken down with amine oxide (which is a non-toxic solvent that heats wood pulp until all cellulose dissolves).

4) Filtering

Once all the cellulose gets dissolved into a clear solution, the pulp also gets filtered to make sure that everything is dissolved.

5) Spinning

The clear solution is pumped through spinnerets and the cellulose gets passed through it which creates a long strand of fibre. It is dipped into another solution of amine oxide. Later, they get rinsed with water.

6) Drying and finishing

The long strands are dried to evaporate water from it. From there, a lubricant is applied to detangle them.

7) Final steps

The strands are finally taken to a crimper (machine) that compresses them, giving it the texture and bulk. Then they get shipped to a fabric mill!

FUN FACT: The whole process of creating this fabric takes only approximately 2 hours!
